Our client is a leader in the Belgian biomass market, with approximately 60 associates strategically based in the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, the UK, Switzerland, and Belgium. They advise Belgian and international companies on the trading and shipping of sustainable solid fuels.

Today, they are looking for a CFO / Head of Accounting in Brussels in order to centralize part of the activities. Join a young and dynamic team to work on challenging projects!

Missions & responsibilities

  • Implementing the company’s financial policy and advising the management in its decision-making
  • Implementing and developing an efficient financial information system to enable management to make strategic decisions
  • Ensuring budget planning and monitoring, preparing annual financial statements
  • Providing management with the financial reports required to monitor the activity
  • Drawing up and distributing management charts for operational and budgetary monitoring
  • Preparing periodic financial reports, adapting financial information to the company’s development, and ensuring its quality
  • Ensuring that the accounting and budgetary control is carried out in accordance with accounting and legal standards
  • Ensuring that the general and cost accounting is kept, as well as monitoring the cash flow (this will involve carrying out the accounting for the Swiss parent company and for Brussels, and consolidating, where appropriate, controlled, or non-controlled subsidiaries in Belgium, Dubai, Johannesburg, and Hong Kong, all under IFRS, with the ODOO ERP system, which the candidate is familiar with)
  • Carrying out the periodic closings and reports and ensuring budgetary control
  • Ensuring the payroll of the companies, and the social aspects, pension fund, etc
  • Collaborating with the auditors during the audit of the ICS and the annual accounts, as well as with the external control bodies (AVS, VAT, etc.)
  • Ensuring the implementation and monitoring of the internal control system
  • Defining and implementing internal procedures for the processing of financial transactions
  • Ensuring the development of the accounting system and other IT tools of the finance department

The perfect profile

  • 5 to 10 years of experience may be sufficient
  • Skills: accounting (Belgian and Swiss), budgeting, controlling, consolidation
  • French native with excellent command of English
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Knowledge of Odoo
  • Experience in consolidation of international subsidiaries
